A Time To Give
With the holidays fast approaching, there’s a lot on people’s minds such as, “Did I get all the presents?” “What are we going to eat?” “Did I forget to invite anyone?” If you’ve had any of these questions on your mind, know that you’re not alone!
It’s important though to remember to give back to those less fortunate this holiday season. You’ll be sure to find a clothing drive in your area, along with charities looking for monetary and food donations. A quick Google search will help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
In continuing with the tradition of helping our local community, Arpin Strong sponsored another event at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank on Friday, December 9, 2016 for Arpin Van Lines and Tier One employees. Eleven employees donated their time during the workday to check expiration dates of donated food and sorted them into the appropriate categories. The Boy Scouts of America originally collected the food during their annual “Scouting For Food Drive”.
While some donate items to the food bank, you may also want to donate some of your time to help out. If you’re interested, check out their website here for more information. Also, check with your company to see if they have a corporate program in place. If they don’t, it might be worth looking into starting one up!
We hope everyone has a wonderful, stress-free holiday this year. Try to be mindful of the true meaning of the season and have some fun!
