Arpin and Cardi’s “Sandy” Relief Drive Was A Huge Success

Due to the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, Arpin and Cardi’s Furniture teamed up once again to hold a relief drive to collect items for those affected in New York and New Jersey. The turnout was quite incredible.

The drive was held last Friday, November 9 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all four Cardi’s Furniture locations. Arpin provided the trailers needed to transport the donations, along with dedicated employees that helped unload cars and even a full school bus. Luckily, the Rhode Island Police Academy came to the rescue, for if it wasn’t for their help, it would have been much tougher to load up the trailers. At the end of the day, ten 53 foot trailers were filled with clothing and food!

The event itself was amazing to witness. People from all over Rhode Island and Massachusetts took time out of their busy day to stop by and drop off items. Towards the end of the drive at the Cardi’s in West Warwick, there was a line of cars extending out into the main road. We appreciate the patience that people had during the traffic that was caused for the event.

If you donated to our drive or just in general, thank you so much. Those affected in New York and New Jersey greatly appreciate all that you have provided and it’s very special to see everyone coming together in this time of need.
