Grow Your Own Garden

Are you interested in enjoying fresh produce, saving money, and bettering the environment? Then now is the time to test out your green thumb and grow your very own garden! Reap the benefits of having a personal vegetable patch by staying cool as a cucumber, all while munching on your own homegrown cukes this season.

Arpin has a history of successfully growing a garden on the company’s campus in West Warwick, RI during the summer. Some of the vegetables that have been planted range from tomatoes to cucumbers to peppers. The plants grew prosperously thanks to the benefits of applying the compost of food scraps contributed by employees. Members of the Arpin Sustainability Committee sowed our garden, and you are able to do the same in your own yard.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac is a bountiful resource that offers insight about plant varieties and gardening calendars, in addition to how-to videos. A guide available here offers the basics to new gardeners. It breaks down the following:

·     Selecting a location for your garden

·     Advice on how to grow the most flavorful vegetables

·     How to use their free online garden planner

As a company with a strong belief system in following green initiatives, Arpin is excited to promote sustainable examples such as establishing gardens within communities.
