As we grow older, planning for retirement becomes more of a reality. Not only do you have to prepare to be financially ready, but you also have to figure out what part of the country you want to settle down in.

However, when is it really the best time to retire? It seems that the average retirement age is constantly climbing. The mid 60s used to be a reasonable target age, but now it’s looking more like the 70s. Who knows what the average age will be in 10-20 years!

Forbes.com explored three different scenarios that a person thinking about retirement can evaluate: rebooting, rewiring, or retiring.
