Rising Appeal For Responsible Government

People have many reasons for moving. It could be a new job, weather related, or a complete change in lifestyle. However, some Americans are gravitating to other states for another reason – the need for a responsible government.

Forbes.com recently reported this new trend, stating that government policies are impacting migration. The information comes from The Mercatus Center, which released its annual state fiscal rankings. Some of the metrics included in the rankings were state policies, budget deficits, and “service-level solvency,” which is “a measure of how much fiscal ‘slack’ a state has to increase spending and taxes.”

Some states that were highlighted in the article were Connecticut, Illinois, and New Jersey, which are currently in financial trouble and losing people, while states like Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado were experiencing increases in population.
