The Winter Move
If you’re familiar with the moving industry, you know that the busiest time to move during the year is during the months of May through September. But what if you’re looking to move outside of this timeframe, especially if it’s during winter? Are there benefits of doing this?
For the moving industry, winter is viewed as the least busy out of all the other seasons. It’s mostly because kids are still in school, and families tend to wait until classes are finished. This way, families can hold off on introducing their children to a new school district halfway through the academic year.
However, weather can be a factor. Winter brings the chance of snow and icy conditions, which can lead to multiple issues for movers, such as delays and breakdowns. While this may be a non-factor for states in the south, the Northeast, for example, is always anticipating snow from December through March.
