What You’ll Need To Know About Moving During The Summer

The summer is upon us! For many, it’s finally the right weather to hit the beach and to have barbeques with friends and family. If you’re a teacher, you can sit back and relax until school starts up in a few months. Enjoy while you can!

For those involved in the moving industry, the summer time is crunch time. From May to September, it’s the busiest time of the year, with the majority of yearly business taking place during this timeframe.

Why is it so busy? For starters, school is out so it’s the right time for families to move around. Companies tend to relocate their employees during the summer as well, so there is an upswing of moves within both the private residential and corporate lines of business.

If you’re one of the many moving during the summer, make sure you cover all of your bases. Communicate with your move coordinator to make sure your goods will arrive on time. In the event that a delay occurs, you’ll be in the know ahead of time to prepare for such an event. While we try to avoid delays as much as possible, sometimes they do occur. Rest assured we will exhaust all options to make sure your goods arrive in a timely manner.

Also, always be aware of weather or other nature-related factors in your area. For example, throughout the northeastern U.S.,  there’s been a huge increase in the gypsy moth population due to a dry spring. Transporting these invasive pests to other parts of the country can be avoided by cleaning outdoor household articles in advance of your move.

If you’re moving with us, our goal is make your move as seamless and stress-free as possible. Give us a call and one of our representatives will assist your every need.
