May = National Moving Month!


I love May for many reasons.  The birds are chirping, the weather is getting warmer, and the smell of backyard barbeques is starting to fill the air.  It’s also a time when children are gearing up for summer vacation and families are deciding to relocate.  

That’s why the American Moving & Storage Association, the national trade association for the professional moving industry, has designated May as National Moving Month in advance of the busy summer moving season. 

Are you thinking about moving this summer?  If so, set it up as soon as you can!  The summer months tend to fill up quickly … you’ll want to stay ahead of the curve by planning early so you can breathe easy during the process.  Also, make sure you use a ProMover (which we are!) to perform your move.  ProMovers are the most qualified in the industry and, of course, you’ll want the best to take care of your possessions.   

We are also pleased to announce that we gave out two prestigious awards this month, our 2011 Positive Performer of the Year and 2010 Driver of the Year.  These recognitions are given to the most deserving person in their respective categories. 

Our 2011 Positive Performer of the Year award went to Mark Velardi, our Midwest Dispatch Manager in the Operations Department.  Mark has been with us since 2005 and was our June 2010 Positive Performer.  He takes great pride in his work and handles each move professionally.  We’re very proud to have him here and know he’ll continue his excellent work ethic.

Our 2010 Driver of the Year award went to Ron Sample, who drives for Studdard Moving and Storage, our agent in Leavenworth, Kansas.  Ron, who was our September 2010 Driver of the Month, has excellent claims and safety records, and always goes above and beyond for his customers.  We’re also very proud of Ron and know that he will always be a top driver in our organization. 

Once again, thanks to Mark and Ron for coming to work each and every day ready to face the challenges and excel in their professions.  Keep up the great work!
