“This was my first major move and I was not as prepared as I should have been, but your guys were so helpful and understanding. They were so efficient and amazing. They worked quickly, and truthfully, it was a pleasure having them. From the moment they walked in, I felt comfortable and knew I was in good hands. You run an unbelievable business.”
“Your team is amazing in their communication, attention to detail, and providing excellent customer service to Sabre's employees and their families for their packing, shipping, and storage needs. Moving to and from an assignment can be terribly stressful for all parties involved, but you and your team really go above and beyond the normal expectations to relieve that stress from the employees and their families.”
While the shutdown of the federal government has negatively impacted many Americans since early last week, the moving industry remains relatively unscathed by the event.
The American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) reports that while many federal workers were furloughed, those deemed “essential” remain in their positions. Those include employees of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) because their salaries are paid from a source outside of an annual spending bill. That source is the Highway Trust Fund.
As for the military, all those in active-duty are considered “essential”, so movers can still perform their usual day-to-day activities if they are moving any military goods. GSA is also unaffected moving-wise.
If you’re one of our agents or are a part of the moving industry, please inform all involved of these updates.
