Making Holiday Travel Less Stressful
If you’re driving to a location this holiday season, the main thing to remember is to bring everything with you. Do you have that dish you were told to make? Do you have all the presents you’re supposed to bring? There’s nothing worse than almost arriving to your destination a
nd then remembering that a gift for grandma was left on the counter. Make a list (and check it twice)!
In addition, if you’re traveling a long-distance, it’s a good idea to pre-plan your travel route at least 36 hours in advance so you can avoid delays associated with construction or inclement weather. It’s also a great idea to prepare your car for winter driving and prepare an emergency kit to keep in your trunk. The Internet can be a great resource to help you with your travel plans.
If you’re flying, Airlines For America forecasts that 38.1 million passengers will be taking to the skies worldwide between December 18 and January 3, which is up 3 percent from last year. Make sure that any gifts or items you’re planning on bringing with you can be placed in the overhead storage or you’ll have to check them with your other luggage.
We hope that all of you have a safe and happy holiday season, along with a happy New Year!
