Roadcheck 2013 Comes To A Close

According to the CVSA website, since the inception of Roadcheck in 1988, roadside inspections have totaled over one million, resulting in more than 220 lives saved and 4,045 injuries avoided. To make this possible, 10,000 CVSA-certified local, state, provincial, and federal inspectors at 1,500 locations each year conduct the inspections.

CBS Baltimore reports that 525 vehicles were inspected the first day in Maryland, which resulted in 101 vehicles designated as out-of-service due to violations, along with 19 drivers deemed unqualified to operate a commercial vehicle. Results from the remaining states will be posted in the next couple of weeks.
